Narendra Modi Stadium

Wankhede Stadium

The Wankhede Stadium hosted its maiden Test in 1974–75 when the West Indies visited India. The stadium was granted Test status in 1974–75 and held the West Indies in its inaugural match, even though it had only been half-complete. That match also marked the first appearances of two West Indian legends, Gordon Greenidge and Viv Richards. 

The venue also hosted Sunil Gavaskar's last innings, a masterpiece on hazardous terrain when India lost to Pakistan in the 1987 series finale.

Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium

The demand for a large field and a unique cricket facility prompted the construction of a cricket pitch in Uppal, an eastern district of Hyderabad. Furthermore, the previous location, the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, was controlled by the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh, giving the Hyderabad Cricket Association little control over the pitch.
